The Be Kind Project’s purpose is to assist the Iger Fund in building a foundation to support behavioral health patients.

The Be Kind Project was founded by frontline mental health professionals who work together at a psychiatric hospital and are looking to support and spread awareness for the Iger Fund. The team is comprised of social workers, a Registered Nurse, and a Nurse Practitioner who have decided to dedicate our time in making a difference. The Be Kind Project is rooted in lived experience within the healthcare system. Together, we saw the gaps—where funding falls short, and where patients are left without supports upon discharging from the hospital. Rather than accepting this status quo, we have chosen to take action, reclaim how resources are allocated and how they are used to support this vulnerable population.
Our dream goal is to establish a mental health respite; an environment where individuals who are experiencing mental illness and who may lack social support, can access stability beyond hospitalization and a bridge toward a meaningful future. We may be a small group of frontline healthcare providers yet we have a shared vision with a deep respect for those we serve, and an unwavering belief that kindness, when backed by action, can change lives.

Your generous donations can help patients gain access to essential resources. Join us in trying to make a difference and spreading kindness throughout the Hartford community. Together, we can create a brighter future for all.
